NUR 200 - Advanced Medical-Surgical Nursing I Credits: 6
This course will focus on beginning nursing care concepts, critical thinking, clinical judgment and clinical decision making in the care of the medical surgical client. The topics of study include sensory; integumentary, hematology; fluid and electrolytes; infections and immunology; reproduction; pain/pain management and cancer. Pathophysiology, pharmacology, laboratory and diagnostics, and treatment intervention data will correlate medical, surgical within nursing plan of care and reinforced in laboratory and clinical settings. Laboratory sessions will review math competencies, isolation techniques, medication administration techniques, blood administration techniques and introduce IV insertion, IV bolus, and IVPB. Drug dosage calculation, preparation, and lab simulation is included. Clinical required
