EDU 200 - Foundations of Education Credits: 3
This course is designed to provide an overview of the historical, philosophical, sociological, economic, legal, and curricular contexts within which our American education system operates. Students will explore the purposes, organizations, and outcomes of schooling within our society. Candidates undertake critical inquiry into teaching as a profession, while also analyzing issues like licensure requirements, educators’ legal responsibilities, and the accountability of public schools.
